Vilua Healthcare GmbH, one of the leading German providers of data-based and user-centered solutions in the health maintenance economy, is opening its fourth location in the university town of Greifswald.

Vilua Healthcare is presenting a new concept in the field of tele-health and artificial intelligence in the healthcare market and is currently represented with two locations in Berlin and one in Munich. In the region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with approximately 97,600 employees, about one in seven people is employed in the health sector – and the trend is rising. The state of M-V has taken up the cause of becoming Germany’s “health state number one“. Vilua, “pioneer of the health maintenance economy”, is now also taking off in M-V and has been setting up a new location in the Hanseatic city of Greifswald since the beginning of the year.

Research and innovation in health maintenance

The strong combination of science, research and technology makes Greifswald an innovation centre for future-oriented companies. In addition to the well-known university, the city has other research facilities such as the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg, the Leibniz Institute, the Max Planck Institute and the Friedrich Loeffler Institute. One third of the approximately 60,000 people in Greifswald work in research, development or higher education.

Figures that are impressive: Greifswald is one of the few cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in which the population is constantly growing. Also the many students, 2019 approx. 10,000, contribute to the lively and attractive city atmosphere. Not to forget the proximity to the sea. Just a few kilometres from the city, the beaches of the Baltic Sea invite you to take relaxing walks and swim.

A place worth living in, which is to become even more attractive with the “Masterplan health economy 2020” of the federal state government. With this, the expansion of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania into a leading health state will be further promoted. With a gross value added of around four billion euros, the M-Vs health sector is certainly comparable to the tourism or food industry.
